The Amazing Chan and the Chan Clan

This family of super sleuths comprised Chinese detective Charlie Chan, his 10 children and their family dog, Chu Chu.

The children always try to help their dad to bring in the bad guy, but in the meantime, get caught up in many adventures as they travel around the world.

It had Asian characters that didn’t practice Kung Fu or speak in broken English or work as houseboys. The stories were the usual Hanna-Barbera Scooby Doo type mysteries but I could identify with young Chinese-American kids wanting to participate in adventures and having parents that didn’t understand the “younger” generation. Also it’s great to have Keye Luke, who played the number one son in the Charlie Chan movies in the 1930’s, finally voice Chan himself and also having Jodie Foster and Robert Ito (Sam on “Quincy”) voicing some characters too. The Instant Changing Chan Van was a hot, too!
